Project 12 - March 2011

As usual, I'm working until the last minute. :D  Here's my Project 12 layout for March!

This page isn't too detailed this time.  I did do a lot of stitching between the papers and pictures, and I may add some buttons or something later.  I cut some of the felt trim in half to create the flower stems, and layered some Pear Pizzazz seam binding ribbon to create grass, randomly pleating it.

Here's the 1st page by itself:

Here's the 2nd page by itself, where you may be able to see my journaling better:

Yes, we printed out a picture of our dear friend Lisa, who couldn't come along with us to CKC in Louisville last month.. "Flat Lisa". :D  It was so fun to text her with pictures of her adventures... mammoth water bottles and all!  Haha!  We love you Lisa :) ♥♥

I just love that the title letters almost look like plant pots!  I inked the chipboard with Crumb Cake Craft ink, then when it dried I inked up the edges using Soft Suede.  To create the "hello", I stamped the upcoming Hello Blossoms stamp with VersaMark on the tag, then embossed it with the new Melon Mambo Stampin' Emboss powder!  (I'm so excited that we're getting embossing powder in "colors"! :)  Hope the offering is expanded even more!)

Susan and I went to CKC on Friday (as well as the big flea market next door).  I plan on making a mini album of my trip. :)  Susan took me to this awesome place called Lynn's Paradise Café nearby... definitely delish!  The wait times can be very long, so make sure you don't arrive hungry. ;)  I meant to put a small picture of this on my layout, but I ran out of printer ink.  I had a yummy coffee drink called a Nut Tree Latte, in a fun mug shaped like a cowboy boot!  Yum!

I'll share more pictures of Lynn's when I create my mini, which I hope is sometime soon! :)  Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. I LOVE this LO!!! Totally makes me think of TX. Great job, love the stitching.

  2. A fun layout to document all the fun you had in perfect!
    And a flat Lisa....too funny!

  3. Very nice touches but then again, you are known for that kind of stuff. I like how you echoed the flowers on both sides and the March title does act like a flower pot. I also like how the blue border strip anchors the sky and your shirt.

  4. Your layout is lovely from the felt flowers and ribbon grass accent to the journaling! Great job!

  5. Great job! I just found you at the SC Message board/gallery! I love your style - It's nice to find another SU demo who has a style that is so unique. Love it!

  6. I love what you did with the ribbon for your flouwers. Super cute. I love the layered title too. Working at the last minute is what I do best! Thank you for playing along!

  7. I love the faux bois, and your ribbon work is amazing.

  8. That is such a fun latte! Love your take on the project!

  9. Too cute and so much fun! Love the way you and Susan toted around flat Lisa all weekend, then documented for all to see. Brilliant!

I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.. it makes my day!
