Vintage Friends

Good morning!

There was another Featured Stamper Challenge issued, this time focusing on the crazily-talented Janine Tinklenberg (JanTink).  The card I chose of hers was this one:

Gorgeous, right?  I tell you, my hands-down favorite In Color this year is Rich Razzleberry!  Here's my version of her card:

I really adored her whole card, so I kept a lot of the elements the same.  I don't have the Very Vintage jumbo wheel yet, though, so I used the It's Beautiful jumbo wheel with the Melon Mambo ink pad.  I changed the stripes to polka dots on mine - I love doing tone-on-tone stamping.. in this case the polka dots are stamped with Basic Gray ink on Basic Gray cardstock.  I created the tag on the ribbon by punching Kraft cardstock with the Word Window punch, then punching it again to make it shorter.  It was then stamped with the vine image from Vintage Vogue and tied to the ribbon.  Doesn't Melon Mambo just look fabulous stamped on Blush Blossom?

Thanks for stopping by!  Be back soon with circle journal pages!

Thank You Squares

Hi!

I decided to play along again with this week's Featured Stamper challenge.  Ilina Crouse's work is featured this week.  I was inspired by this card:

I loved the layout of this, and the whimsical line drawn across with the sentiment.  Here's my take on it:

I changed the base card color, the Designer Series Paper used for the squares, color scheme.. well, I changed a lot, and kept the basic layout and the doodling line across the center.  :)

After stamping the sentiment, I also stamped a flower from the same set to mimic the heart from the original card.  I drew in the "stitched" lines with my Taken with Teal marker.  Various squares were cut from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper pad and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Paper from the same collection was also punched and adhered along the bottom.  I just love the clean look of the card!

I'll have my circle journal pages up tomorrow.. I have to re-develop a couple of photos, as they were messed up and I didn't look at them before leaving.. stay tuned!

Thank You Squares:

Love Helps card

Good evening!

The snow is beginning to melt here, although I had quite a time this morning helping Seth get the snow and layers of ice off our car.  We are lucky though to have gotten mostly snow, with some of the ice.

I stayed inside most of the day and did some things around the house, as well as made a card.  There's another Featured Stamper challenge up at Stampin' Connection, our demo site, featuring the beautiful work of Mary Brown.  Here's her original card:

Isn't it pretty?  I love looking at her gallery, and I just adore her color combos.

Here's my version:

As you can see, I changed the color combo, the Designer Series Paper, and the stamps.  I tried a little faux stitching as well with my paper piercing tool and Rose Red marker.

Remember that through February 28th, $2 from each I {Heart} Hearts stamp set sold will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund!  It is a beautiful set, and such a wonderful cause.

Love Helps card:  I {Heart} Hearts and Vintage Vogue stamp sets; Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, So Saffron, and Rose Red Classic Stampin' Pads; Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Old Olive, and Rose Red cardstock; Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper pad; Whisper White satin ribbon; Rose Red Stampin' Write marker; Small Heart punch, 1-3/4" Circle punch; 1-3/8" Circle punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Mat Pack

"Owl"-ways Love You Much!

Good Saturday morning!

Stampin' Up! created a site for demonstrators to connect and share with each other, and fellow demos on there have started challenges.  One of the challenges is a "featured stamper" challenge, and this week's featured stamper is the talented Wendy Weixler.  The challenge has you CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a card from their gallery, changing at least two things on your card.  Here's Wendy's original..

And here's my version!

I had a lot of fun making this card!  I love to put different elements together.  I especially love to put together different stamp sets and make them work with each other!  You can see I changed a lot from Wendy's card, but still kept a lot of the elements, like a dry-embossed card front, the sentiment tag, the layout, and a punched border.  The tag is cut from the Matchbox Bigz XL die (there are three tags on there in addition to the matchbox pieces themselves).

I stamped the tree stump from the Love Bandit set on Creamy Caramel in Chocolate Chip ink, then cut it out.  The little owl is from the same set, stamped and cut out as well.  The heart is from the I {Heart} Hearts set, cut and adhered over the heart cut-out already on the stump.  I'm not sure if you can tell, but I created the grass much the same way I did in my other Love Bandit card.

Thank you Wendy for the inspiration!

(Don't tell Seth.. this will be either our anniversary or Valentine's Day card to him.. :)  Shh!)

Have a great day!
